1981

Lindon Oscar’s first workshop

Lindon Oscar attended his first workshop with the Summit Organization thanks to his mother’s invitation. There, he met Rick Itzkowich, whom he later co-founded Productive Learning & Leisure with. From the start, Lindon’s wife, Robin, has been the heart of the company, playing a vital role in its spirit and legacy.

1983

Lindon joins The Summit Organization

 

Lindon left San Luis Obispo for Orange County to work for The Summit Organization. There he met Betty Jo Salm (Waxman). 

1983

1992

Productive Learning & Leisure was founded

 

Lindon O. left The Summit Organization to start Productive Learning & Leisure. Rick moved back from Mexico to join.

For the past 30 years, Productive Learning has helped more than 10,000 people discover and nurture the thinking necessary to see what else is possible. Lindon O. has written more than 100 dynamic workshops that are unique to our organization.

First international workshop

Productive Learning & Leisure held its first international workshop in Greece & Crete.

1994

First employee

Productive Learning & Leisure hired Jean O’Neil and Warren Wong. Warren was PL’s first fully paid employee.

Betty Jo joins team

 

Betty Jo Waxman moved back from the East Coast to join Productive Learning & Leisure.

The Expansion

In 1999, we recognized that we have the opportunity to impact the world in two ways: 1) by helping individuals on a personal level (as we had been doing) and 2) by working closely with business groups to create more fulfilling professional interactions. We began to expand our offerings into the business world with our corporate training division.

Melissa Crow joins the team

The company had grown quite a bit and Lindon O. Crow’s sister, Melissa Crow, moved to CA to become his assistant. Melissa was in charge of events & Learning Vacation bookings.

Mark joins team

Mark Nicole joins Productive Learning & Leisure team.

Conscious Leadership Circle is born

As we worked with business leaders both in our personal development workshops and in the corporate setting, we continually heard professionals discussing their desire for a network of like-minded executives. CLC began in 2006 – here’s a peek at some of our 2025 crew, still growing strong!

Cassie & Lindon Austin join team

Cassie joins Productive Learning & Leisure. Lindon Austin returns to the states and joins as well.

Rebirth of PL

Productive Learning & Leisure rebranded as Productive Learning, LLC.  The new name came with a new mission, purpose, and logo. Staff count to 14.

Passing the Torch

In 2014, Productive Learning celebrated a changing of the guards as Lindon Oscar Crow passed the torch to his son, Lindon Austin Crow. The second generation of Productive Learning has proven to be overwhelmingly successful with continued growth in both Southern and Northern California.

Lindon A. becomes owner

Lindon Austin acquires sole ownership of Productive Learning, LLC.

Lindon Oscar leads his Magnum Opus: Odyssey.
